The background with Laketown and the line "Bard the Bowman on the rooftops of Laketown" are really amazing!

Now I'm getting really excited for this movie! Can't wait!

Entirely new images, and of all the key characters! That's more like it.

I'll have to search out the Thorin cover, though all of the covers are great.

Fantastic ... but have you guys seen the 5th cover? [In reply to] Can't Post

Many thanks Arannir! They're all wonderful!

Has anyone of you noticed anything "weird" with the fifth cover (the subscribers one)?

Bilbo's eyes looks almost snake-like and I'm not even going to comment on Thorin's squashed head Unsure

Other than that, the others are brilliant!

The eagle over Erebor is also quite a misstep... [In reply to] Can't Post

... considering how hundreds of Tolkien-fans all over the work try to explain to people why the eagles cannot fly there :D;D;D

Don't know whether this means anything but... [In reply to] Can't Post

"Bard The Bowman On The Rooftops Of Lake-town". We know from the leaked version of one of the vlogs that Bard is running along the rooftops during Smaug's attack on the city. If that is what the picture is and that is how they describe Bard's actions in the film could that indicate Smaug attacking Laketown will be in DOS?

More evidence [In reply to] Can't Post

From the write-up below the cover icons.

Quote
Last but not least is Luke Evans' Bard the Bowman, a debutant in the second part of Peter Jackson's trilogy, seen here defending Lake-Town from fiery menace.

Would Empire know this? Maybe just an assumption based on any knowledge the web page editors might have of the leaked vlog?

I'm definately getting the Thorin cover... [In reply to] Can't Post

because I was a little worried that Legolas or Tauriel would get all the attention. I'm glad that some people are listening, and giving some of us fans what we want... characters that are important to the story (not that I'm any kind of book purist, but I've had just about enough of this endless Tauriel coverage).

I missed out on this last year when Entertainment Weekly did a similar thing. Since it was before my favorite character changed (I was more into the Witch-king back then), I didn't know which cover to get, so I never got one.Frown

To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away, ere break of day
To find our long-forgotten gold.
