Who wins?
****************************************** Three meals for the Elven-kings high on the sky flet, Three for the Dwarf-lords meat ripe off the bone, Three for Mortal Men doomed to diet, Seven for the Halflings of Hobbiton, In the Land of the Shire where the taters fry. Seven meals to rule them all, Seven meals to find them, Seven meals to bring them all And at the Party bind them In the Land of the Shire where the taters fry.

I think this depends on the location of the bout. In a rural setting, Gandalf would likely be victorious. Maybe it'd be a little more evenly matched in a metropolitan area. I've just always felt like Spiderman would sort of lose his niche if he were transported somewhere like Hobbiton... I swear I'm not biased, as I like Spiderman enough to own a hoodie that, when fully utilized, makes my face into his mask. I just wanted to share that.

Are we doing Gandalf vs. the entire Marvel pantheon here?

Very well. I shall continue my streak and vote Gandalf! After his years of wandering around Mirkwood, surely he knows how to deal with all sorts of spawn of Ungoliant. Although I really can't see Peter Parker and Gandalf fighting. I figure Peter'd be the nerdy sort who'd be so overjoyed to meet Gandalf he'd rather ask him for an autograph rather than fight him...
"I had forgotten that. It is hard to be sure of anything among so many marvels. The world is all grown strange. Elf and Dwarf in company walk in our daily fields; and folk speak with the Lady of the Wood and yet live; and the Sword comes back to war that was broken in the long ages ere the fathers of our fathers rode into the Mark! How shall a man judge what to do in such times?" "As he ever has judged. Good and ill have not changed since yesteryear; nor are they one thing among Elves and Dwarves and another among Men. It is a man's part to discern them, as much in the Golden Wood as in his own house."

I am a huge Spider-Man fan, but Gandalf could deal with him, I think.
