Smaug's voice!!! Can't Post

Just been to an early preview of Gravity and the new trailer was attached! It looked great in 3D, but what was more impressive was Smaug's voice! It sounds completely different through theater speakers. If anyone has a home theater or some really good bassy speakers I strongly recommend checking the trailer out with them. The theater was shaking from his voice, it was so powerful, I'd say it was the highlight of the evening, but Gravity was also an absolute masterpiece. Smile

His voice certainly sounds better in theaters. [In reply to] Can't Post

I went to Gravity last weekend and saw the trailer in 3D. I would have to say that almost every frame of the trailer looked better in 3D! The snow in laketown, the company climbing the statue, the barrels, Erebor's golden treasure piles, the elven kingdom...

It all looked so much better, clearer, and larger!!

The best part was the voice, though. It did in fact sound deeper, meaner, and more vibrant. Just seeing that trailer in 3D raises my hopes of being an EPIC film in two months.

I have a friend who... [In reply to] Can't Post

...is a very casual viewer who knows nothing about the Hobbit, besides the fact that he's seen AUJ once.

I showed him the trailer and he had shivers and goosebumps after he heard the voice.

He says it was amazing!

Smaug's voice made me go "Squeeeeeee!" [In reply to] Can't Post

I haven't seen the trailer in a theater and I probably won't, but I cannot wait until DOS comes out so I can hear Smaug's voice in full surround sound! I love, love, loved how he sounded in the trailer and even though I had headphones on it still vibrated my eardrums a bit! I can't wait to hear the rest of Bilbo and Smaug's conversation! I'm bouncing up and down with anticipation! SmileHeart

My favorite speech from the entire LOTR series: Sam:“It’s like in the great stories Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end, because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was after so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come and when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those are the stories that stayed with you, that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand, I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances at turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going because they were holding on to something.” Frodo: “What are we holding on to, Sam?” Sam: “That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo, and it’s worth fighting for!”

This voice is everything I hoped for :) [In reply to] Can't Post

Richard Boone's voice in the animated version of The Hobbit is so great... and I hoped for something along those lines. Jackson's Smaug is absolutely perfect, imho. It's going to shake the rafters and blow our hair back!! *rubs hands together* I cant WAIT! *twitch*
