Boromir as human version of Thorin Can't Post

I noticed many similarities between those two characters and now that we can see both of them on the screen, this resemblance is even stronger in my opinion. Let's talk about some facts first:

- Both character are not commoners, but rulers or future rules of their people (Boromir as son of the Steward of Gondor and Thorin as king of Erebor)
- Both are very proud, hold their people in high regard and will do anything in their power to protect them
- We can also say that they are very stubborn and won't let others influence them or even command them
- They have also similar flaw - obsession with regaining glory for their people ( in Boromir's case he is trying to regain the strenght and glory of Gondor who is becoming more and more weaker because of Sauron and in Thorin's case he is trying to reclam Erebor and return both home and glory to his dwarves)
- Their obsession lead them to their doom (through the One Ring in Boromir's case and dragon sickness in Thorin's case)

Of course they have also differences but in the whole I would say that these two characters are very similar and perhaps professor Tolkien has Thorin in mind when he was creating Boromir.
