" do not give him hope when there is none"

" do not give him hope when there is none"

 Hi all,
This line was said by thranduil to tauriel in the new trailer. Now we know that he is talking about legolas. But what does he mean in saying hope? What's the hope that he is referring to? Hope for their relationship? Or hope for the good of the world ( like aragorns in lotr) personally I believe he is referring to their affection for eachother. Thranduil looks like another disapproving father of his childs love interest. Just like elrond and arwen in lotr. Obviously tauriel seemed upset with what thranduil was saying to her. But why do you reckon he dissaproves of her? Because she is silvan? And also considering that they are in love, do you believe this will stop then from loving eachother? Like elrond kept giving arwen a hard time about Aragorn but still she didn't stop loving him.
I hope that is how it plays out, and sorry to all you legorial haters, but I absolutely adore this idea and the potentials to enrich the story :)

     I'm neutral. [In reply to]

I will have to see where it goes, and what this line really means, before really getting into speculation. But yeah, I like it.

I think he's referring to them, yes [In reply to]

They wouldn't make it seem that way otherwise. I don't mind it, really. I believe Tauriel will die in the BOFA, and that'll prompt a character change in Legolas somehow.

Please re-post in the thread re: Taruiel and Legolas a few threads down the board (link inside). Thanks! [In reply to]

Link here.

We're trying to keep 'like' topics in one thread so other topics can stay on page one as long as possible.

Thanks again!
