I love the look of some of the locations

I love the look of some of the locations Can't Post

Especially the one showing the Company walking over a bridge above a river, the interior of Thranduil's halls (distant view), and the watery locations.

Incidentally, the trailer appears very dark on my screen. (I have a good-quality Mac screen.) Do you think that's just to do with the quality of the YouTube video? Hope the film is not going to be too dark making films dark is something that many film studios these days resort to, and I always think it is because they don't want to spend money on refining the details of the backgrounds. (Probably not the case here.) I loved the colours in AUJ, by the way.

Why not try watching it on one of the other links [In reply to] Can't Post

Facebook, for example (you don't have to be a member, I'm not). Maybe it's just the YouTube version that looks darker. Here's the link

Other things apart, at least it's an excuse to watch it again! Wink

I agree about the locations - that bridge scene is gorgeous.
I'm intrigued by one which seems to show Gandalf and company running towards a stone archway.

I've deleted myself from Facebook [In reply to] Can't Post

However, I have just watched the HD version someone kindly posted on here, and it seems to be good. Smile

Oh, and by the way I really love the scene of Gandalf walking on the stone bridge (from a distance), and the way the snowfall is depicted.

me too [In reply to] Can't Post

the youtube version seemed really dark, but the one on PJ's facebook seemed fine.

I prefer the look of this new trailer to the first. [In reply to] Can't Post

It looks like the orange and teal color correction has been taken down a notch. I am definitely happier with this and hope the movie looks more like this new trailer and not trailer #1. The color in the first trailer felt too vibrant, as did UNEXPECTED JOURNEY of course, this feels more in line with the more muted tones in LOTR.

Here's a download link for a much higher quality version... [In reply to] Can't Post

Got it from another forum, and it's a 1080p Quicktime file. It's much better quality than the Youtube version.

"All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds awake to find that it was vanity; But the dreamers of day are dangerous men. That they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it possible."

I agree [In reply to] Can't Post

the Elven kingdom looks gorgeous...as does the red-ish hue of the leaves in some of the scenes.

color [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm loving the toned down colors. Even Dol Guldur looks like it's gone through some changes since it has appeared in previous trailers. It never looked bad, but now the pale greenish tint they added makes it look like something straight out of an Alan Lee painting.
