it just is what i happen to be doing in the grey havens.

also, probably many here would deem you super, so your quiz result does make sense.

aka. fili orc-enshield
+++++++++++++++++++
the scene, as i understand it, is exceptionally well-written. fili (in sort of a callback to the scene with the eagles), calls out "thorRIIIIIIN!!!" just as he sees the pale orc veer in for the kill. he picks up the severed arm of an orc which is lying on the ground, swings it up in desperation, effectively blocking the pale orc's blow. and thus, forever after, fili is known as "fili orc-enshield."

this earns him deep respect from his hard-to-please uncle. as well as a hug. kili wipes his boots on the pale orc's glory box. -- maciliel telpemairo

Gandalf! [In reply to] Can't Post

Crumbs! Crazy What a result! Cool Tongue

Then Manw and Yavanna parted for that time, and Yavanna returned to Aul; and he was in his smithy, pouring molten metal into a mould. 'Eru is bountiful,' she said. 'Now let thy children beware! For there shall walk a power in the forests whose wrath they will arouse at their peril.'

'Nonetheless they will have need of wood,' said Aul, and he went on with his smith-work.

It's obviously our superior intellect. Wink

Actually, that quiz annoyed me. Most of the questions made me look for a "none of the above" answer.

The White Witch (not) [In reply to] Can't Post

I was seeing too many Hermiones and Sherlock Holmes, and I wondered (as Elizabeth seems to have also) just how the quiz was structured.

I saw that each question had six responses. I began to do the quiz, and it seemed by the third question that I was always going to answer to my 'type' - in other words, even though there are nine questions with six answers each, suggesting 54 possible answers (male and female, for a total of 108 literary characters), in fact there were probably only six characters, with a male and female version for each.

Just for fun, then, I went back and restarted the quiz, answering as far against my own type as I could. I went for revenge, power, domination, hatred, and general 'evil'. And as other here did, just for giggles, I identified as female. Lo, the White Witch, from a young adult fantasy novel. Why not Miranda Priestly? Morgan Le Fay? Lady MacBeth? Nurse Ratchet? Scarlett O'Hara?

Anyway, I wonder how many of Abe Books' readers really spend their weekends "plotting revenge"?

I tend to have difficulty on quizzes like this. It's a struggle to pick one remotely accurate sometimes.

All in good fun, though.
