Frame captures for "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" Can't Post

At long last, my frame capture collection for "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" is up, and can be found at framecaplib.com. There are 1602 images in the collection.

Sorry these have taken so long; unfortunately, I don't have as much free time to devote to frame captures as I did a decade ago, and this one took some pretty intensive work.

I did the captures at Blu-Ray resolution (1980 x 800), so the images are large. I considered shrinking them down a bit, but in the end decided that people would probably welcome the additional detail, and there is a lot of very nice visual detail in the film.

Hope you all enjoy the collection!

Is there a Tolkien topic that you have wanted to look into more deeply, and write about your thoughts on it? If so, we'd like to hear from you for the next TORn Amateur Symposium- coming in November. Happy writing!

Splendid! [In reply to] Can't Post

We've just started the Chapter of the Week discussions, and this is the resource we needed (just like the SCOD discussions).

Thank you for the hard work at compiling this. Smile

Awesome work! [In reply to] Can't Post

Great job, cheers for sharing.

I've always found this shot of Nori quite funny. It's happens after Gandalf makes his appearance. His facial expression and the fact a goblin seems to have fallen on him makes me laugh.

Yes, my username is terrible.

You're amazing :) [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for taking the time to collect these. I've spent hours and days on your website going over the detail in the LOTR screencaps, and I' so glad you took the time to do this for The Hobbit \m/

The extra resolution is amazing. [In reply to] Can't Post

The big sets (Dale, Erebor in the prologue, for example) are incredible. The outdoor scenes, too.

Looks like... [In reply to] Can't Post

he is looking at Gandalf. I'd need to revisit the scene but this might make some sort of sense in light of the conversation Thorin and Gandalf had about dealing with the Elves as they approached Rivendell, and the interplay between Thorin and Elrond in this scene. Perhaps Bilbo is dubious even Gandalf can smooth over Thorin's lack of tact and charm...
