There is Never a good time to discuss Death? Can't Post

There is just one thing left for me to do...
Emigrate to New Zealand and open
a Bread&Breakfast place in
the Old Forest next to
the Hobbiton set.

I want my job to be that guy
who takes care of the ashes
of the aging people HERE
who would like to have
their ashes sprinkled...
under Bilbo's Party Tree.

Then All of YOU
fine furry footed friends
can MOOT in Valinor
with my girl.

As always, Bomby

This Idea is a Community-Building idea.. [In reply to] Can't Post

Once these 6 movies are out
and we, their biggest fans
go home...

Some here are getting kinda old,
and it only seems logical
that there becomes a place.
(A nice green place with lots of flowers)
Near Hobbiton.
to finally rest.

Yep. [In reply to] Can't Post

I hafta admit I'm into spoilers because I just might not be here when the last movie comes out. Or the next for that matter. You never know. Gets more likely every year.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Sometime hours and hours hence:
In The Green Dragon two ales could buy
And drank the one less filling I
And that has made all the difference.

I remember after [In reply to] Can't Post

One of the LOTR movies came out my husband said "I hope to live to see the next movie". He was only in his fifties and we thought he was pretty healthy so I thought that was a weird thing for him to say. He did see all three LOTR movies but died of pancreatic cancer in 2010 at the age of 65. It was bitter sweet seeing The Hobbit without him. He really loved the movies because he wasn't as big of a book fan as me. He let me read TH & LOTR to him twice but he wasn't much of a reader. I still have his ashes. Can't decide what to do with them.

In my experience, [In reply to] Can't Post

there will come a time when you know what to do with those ashes. I was in that situation with my Mum's ashes, and with my Granny's.
When the time is right, it will just happen, I'm sure.
I'm glad your husband got to see all the LOTR films.

Psst, Bomby [In reply to] Can't Post

Remember our conversation a while back about Goldberry and gardens?
I now have some official Goldberry lupins in my garden. It's spring here, so they are small and just starting to grow. Once they get a bit bigger I will show you some photos. Smile

What a wonderful gesture Starling! [In reply to] Can't Post

Is there a Tolkien topic that you have wanted to look into more deeply, and write about your thoughts on it? If so, we'd like to hear from you for the next TORn Amateur Symposium- coming in November. Happy writing!

Starling, Darling, that is great! [In reply to] Can't Post

Are you Wellington , ChristChurch, can't remember?

The thing Bomby is proposing isn't a..

Too Far Fetched Fantasy?

With the Talents of TORn, worldwide..
(there must be Lawyers, Accountants, Bricklayers, Carpenters, etc)
Say a Non-Profit Foundation is set up?
Maybe the great people from Red Carpet Tours
could look into a Plot of Land next to Hobbiton,
and maybe even the Anderson Family
would know.

and it's gunna kill Bomby Again,

when SAY... PJ, Fran, Sir Ian Holm / McKellen, GrammaB, Elizabeth, Kangi Ska, etc.
those of us, are in "The Late Autumn of their Lives".
.go..Sailing into the West...

We know some people who have generated great wealth
( PJ, RT, The many Others.. who have profited in a BIG way)
AND START a non-profit Fund Raiser? (Though TORn.)

Just trying to think about the Long Winding Road
of our Collective Future.

Even if it isn't Ashes, some little Mathom
could find a green place,
and Bomby would do his best
to Honor each.

This Idea came from Goldberry,
but she was right,
Places like Lourdres, France, Mecca, etc.
have Pilgrims
visit all the Time.

Which is what Hobbiton
near Matmata
has become...

(Here is Hope that this Proposal makes it to the TORn
Home Page since it's my Belief that many HERE
could get behind this Idea :)
& not hidden under Off-Topic.
