is it wrong to say, "Because of my cold medicine, I Kant quite grasp that." ???
(And why am I not surprised that's what you were perusing, Terazed?)
Is there a Tolkien topic that you have wanted to look into more deeply, and write about your thoughts on it? If so, we'd like to hear from you for the next TORn Amateur Symposium- coming in November. Happy writing!

Yes, that if from page 52 of my copy of Immanuel Kant's 'Critique of Pure Reason'. I had it sitting next to the computer for our discussion in the reading room so it was the nearest book to hand. In the sentence he is basically talking about how ideas are formed in the mind with a warning that these ideas do not come from the object in itself but from sensory data processed into intuitions which are processed into representations which are processed into concepts.

(If you're still scratching your head, Kim) - it was probably a bit of a cheat, but the nearest book to hand was the book of Sudoku puzzles that I do when I can't sleep at night, and that was the fifth line!
