and you now have 3177, so if you desperately want to know you could search all your posts and count back 177 to the winner. Smile

Once Gandalf dreamt he was a moth, a moth flitting and fluttering around, happy with himself and doing as he pleased. He didn't know he was Gandalf. Suddenly he woke up and there he was, solid and unmistakably Gandalf. But he didn't know if he was Gandalf who had dreamt he was a moth, or a moth dreaming he was Gandalf. Between Gandalf and a moth there must be some distinction! But really, there isn't, because he's actually Olórin dreaming he's both Gandalf *and* a moth!

a whole lotta fun and sometimes one just doesn't hear the recess bellSly.
You are a 'house-a-fire' here which is a goodly thing. Energy that everyone can catch and run with. I feel that the consensus would be that we cannot get too much of that. ....unless someone tries to extract DNA from down Misty Mountain way and try to resurrect a balrog or something. ShockedLaughWink.
Well what i am trying to say congratulations on the 'league'stone!!!Smile

" 'Fair lady Goldberry!' said Frodo at last, feeling his heart move with a joy that he did not understand. He stood as he had at times stood enchanted by fair elven-voices; but the spell that was now laid upon him was different: less keen and lofty was the delight, but deeper and nearer to mortal heart; marvellous and yet not strange."

Chapter VII: In the House of Tom Bombadil; FOTR's

Faerie contains many things besides elves and fays and besides dwarfs, witches, trolls, giants or dragons; it holds the seas, the sun, the moon, the sky; and the earth, and all things that are one in it: tree and bird, water and stone, wine and bread, and ourselves, mortal men, when we are enchanted."

Er...not trying to sound like an idiot, but how does the location thing actually work? [In reply to] Can't Post

Although I gather it's just a bit of fun with no financial rewards Wink, I to my shame, don't actually know the various names and post requirements for each stage and was wandering whther anyone could fill me in-It's based on the number of posts we make on the forum right?, Becuase if it was based on quality I don't think my ramblings would add up to much...

This is pretty embarassing as I've been a forum member for almost two years, but I've never got round to asking this question, and I've never seen it asked...

That's how Glorfindel got there. [In reply to] Can't Post

One minute he's in Middle-earth, the next in Valinor.

I assume that unlike Glorfindel you didn't get the number of the Balrog that hit you, so it must have snuck up on you on heavily padded fluffy bedroom slippers.

It's in the FAQ [In reply to] Can't Post

2.39 I noticed that different users have different titles under their usernames ... what do they mean? The titles listed under members’ usernames are automatically assigned by the system and are based on the total number of posts that a user has created on the message boards. They represent the journey the members of the Fellowship of the Ring made through Middle-earth and beyond, and are based on the following post counts:

Up to 9 posts: Registered User
10 to 49 posts: The Shire
50 to 99 posts: Bree
100 to 249 posts: Rivendell
250 to 499 posts: Lorien
500 to 999 posts: Rohan
1000 to 1499 posts: Gondor
1500 to 1999 posts: Grey Havens
2000 to 2999 posts: Tol Eressea
3000 - 5000 posts: Valinor
5000 - 10,000 posts: Half-elven - congratulations! Few mortals make it to Valinor. As a reward, Mandos has granted you the choice of the Half-elven: you can "choose a mortal life," or continue posting to the ultimate level...

I did have quite a struggle with some "Monster's Ink" sort of fellow, as I thought, until it flew off (and I couldn't find a single door).

Now if I could just get this bedroom slipper off my face, maybe I could see some of those stars and all Daniel is going on about.
