Ah, it appears one can fill a library with books about libraries. [In reply to] Can't Post

This is the one I read. I found it both entertaining and informative (in a geeky way): Libraries in the Ancient World Lionel Casson.

about 1500-1800 [In reply to] Can't Post

is my guess. I have 12 bookshelves, some 3 shelved, most 5 shelved, and the 5 shelves ones hold 150 or so paperbacks. When I get my piano moved into the living room, I'll have three more bookshelves for "strays" and magazines and photo albums and I'll have a proper looking library (in a cottage, rooms serve so many functions it can be "busy". my library was once my computer room, music room, and library until I moved my computer out!) I hope to build in shelves in my closet so it'll look like a proper library, not a bedroom Wink
My books are arranged as Christian, classics, reference, fantasy, children's books, history, mystery, and I'm not sure what else because it is a mess right now while I rearrange!
