Help from an admin requested Can't Post

Hi there, when I set up my profile last week, somehow the time stamp got off by 1 hour, so the local time on my profile is wrong. I didn't see anything in the FAQs about how to fix this. Can you direct me to instructions, or if it's not something I can do, can you fix on your end? Right now, it says it's 12:08pm, when it's actually 11:08am (US West Coast PDT).

Thanks!

Smile

I had the same problem. [In reply to] Can't Post

Go to Edit Profile

Go to Display Settings

At the bottom of the page is time off set. Subtract 1 from the value, but remember to take the minus sign into account with your arithmetic.

That should fix it!!

Hi Rembrethil, [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks for your response. I did try that, but unfortunately, that then throws off the offset for everyone else's posts, so I'm viewing them all off by an hour. Unsure

An admin will be able to elaborate more... [In reply to] Can't Post

But as far as I can remember, it is a random glitch in the Halls of Mandos somewhere. Setting the time in "Edit Profile" can either make your personal profile correct *or* threads and posts correct (but not both). Since you view posts more often than not, it might be better to keep the correct time for posts.

Question is, who's keeping the time stamp offset hostage?

Wink

Thanks DanielLB, [In reply to] Can't Post

Having the time wrong in my profile is just a minor annoyance, like you say, I'd rather have the time correct for threads and posts, so no worries.

P.S. I'm sure Sauron has something to do with it. Laugh

Default # of threads per page? [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello,

While we're asking about profiles, what's the default number of threads that appear per page? I set mine to 25, and now realize I don't know when a topic has fallen off everyone else's front page and will go unseen.

Thanks,

CG
