We all know the riddle " A box without hinges, key or lid, yet golden treasure inside is hid" from The Hobbit. So how do you like your eggses Precious?

When I don't feel like scrambled eggs... [In reply to] Can't Post

Other: Omelet. Preferrably with cheese (american or cheddar), diced onions and bell peppers, and ham. A western omelet can also be nice.

I can't abide fried or hard-boiled eggs. Got to mix the yolks in with those nasty whites.

fried, scrambled, boiled, omlette. egg-upon, egg-drop soup ... all soooo good [In reply to] Can't Post

but so much cholesterol! I have cut back this year. I had one or more a day when I was in school and distracted away from anything sensible.

When I was a kiddie, I guess I loved eggs too and on one particular road trip, I am reported to have screamed my blessed head off until the family stopped the caravan to feed me eggs.

BTW: Egg-upon is like what you can get at Denny's ... maybe that counts as scrambled, though? It's kind of different when you add stuff to it ...
Also: pad-thai and fried rice

about the cheese as well ...

I was doing well with it when I decided it was a "seasoning only" - then I remembered how to make grilled cheese and that went out the window!

*sigh*

good luck to you Patty! I am trying to catch it before I get a doctor visit like that one! This is a good "reminder".

why not allow multiple votes? [In reply to] Can't Post

I can't answer accurately if I can only choose one.

Fried (easy over)
Scrambled (with stuff in it... whatever is in the fridge)
Quiche (it's mostly eggs)
custard

and my favorite: Eggs Benedict or variations available at local restaurants:
Eggs Florentine -  2 poached eggs with spinach and tomato served on an English muffin topped with Hollandaise
Ham Dinger - ham, hash browns, eggs, and Hollaindaise

Over-easy, on top of pancakes! [In reply to] Can't Post

With a nice runny yolk - then you let the yolk run down the pancakes, as if it were syrup, and sop it up with each bite of pancake and egg white...yum!

Uh, why are you looking at me strangely? Angelic

Omelets are also great. I like lots of veggies in mine. Smile

Always scrambled. [In reply to] Can't Post

Although I do hard-boil eggs to make egg salad (or ham salad... or salmon salad...) sandwiches. I also like eating hard-boiled eggs by themselves... It's rather unfair that I can only vote once! Sly

Of course, it helps when you have your own chickens and can have all the organic eggs you want. On the flip side, you have to fight the stupid demon birds for the eggs.

It really is a shame… [In reply to] Can't Post

My husband loves sweets, but he's diabetic.

I love eggs , cheese, red meat, etc. but I have very high cholesterol.

My sister loves all nuts and legumes,, but she's allergic to them. It's a shame.

Oh man! [In reply to] Can't Post

allergies to nuts and legumes! That is the saddest ever because of how good those are for people otherwise! I also know that lots of packages have the "traces of peanuts" warning on them. Yikes.

Sweets are another thing that I need to watch - both diabetes and high cholesterol runs in the family. But I'm pretty good about those ... usually ...

Several answers for me. [In reply to] Can't Post

I chose 'boiled' because I have a hard-boiled egg in my lunch every day, and I take them on hikes (a suggestion of my doctor, when I complained about getting tired on hikes). But I also love scrambled eggs and poached eggs. And egg-drop soup too.

I tried raw eggs once, sucking them out of the shell. It was OK, but too dangerous to repeat.

So how many were you having a week? [In reply to] Can't Post

And how many will you have to cut down to?
And what is the recommendation where you are for how many eggs a week is okay? It's 6 a week here, unless you have a condition that would make that unwise.
Sorry about all the questions! I think my favourite foods profile is rather similar to yours. Smile

Scrambled is my least favourite because [In reply to] Can't Post

there is too much of that yucky white in there.
I love eggs poached, fried, soft boiled or hard boiled. I just ditch two thirds of the white and then I'm happy.

Raw and wriggling [In reply to] Can't Post

The only times I have raw eggs is in homemade Caesar salad dressing and when I am attempting to blow them out and accidently ingest some! Sucking out of a shell sounds a little messy. If Gollum's grandmother could do it though it can't be too bad. Right?Sly
