There are a lot of fans who are against the Silmarillion being filmed or directed by Peter. His name will come up should the occasion arise.

Anyway just letting him know that he has fans who are impressed with the amount of work covering both the LOTR and The Hobbit. Cool

Peter Jackson has done more for Middle-Earth than anyone outside of CT. And his depiction is spot-on - great battles, pretty faithful to the story, and incredible acting. A Silmarillion movie cannot come soon enough. Some people just don't seem to realize that books and movies are 2 completely different mediums, and while I love JRRT's works, PJ's are the best way you can adapt it. A PJ version of the Silmarillion would be a great tribute to the legacy JRRT left us.
