Great news! [In reply to] Can't Post

but does it really mean anything?

My Sam Gamgee is indeed a reflexion of the English soldier, of the privates and batmen I knew in the 1914 war, and recognized as so far superior to myself- J.R.R. Tolkien

In this day and age [In reply to] Can't Post

Yes!

What with illegal dowloads and on demand services the fact that people are paying money for a DVD or blu-ray means they think that AUJ is a keeper, a film to be watched repeatedly in years to come

Any hope the extended ed. will come out before Nov.? I couldnt wait and got the theatrical the day it came out. When DoS comes out, I'll have to be more patient.

An advantage [In reply to] Can't Post

An advantage AUJ probably has that others on the list don't is the EE version. I wonder if that version might equals the sales of the theatrical release.

.........."so far." [In reply to] Can't Post

The OP omitted this significant ending to the heading.
The article states "The Official Charts Company – which compiles the UK’s industry recognised video charts (comprising sales on all formats including DVD and Blu-ray) – has released the biggest seller lists at half-way point through the year,"

most likely.. [In reply to] Can't Post

i think this is one example where the studio banks on the double-dip. i'm sure all the people who liked the film bought it and than they find out there's a extended edition and buy it again.

take me down to the woodland realm where the trees are green and the elf women are pretty....Oh will you please take me home!!

As our releases are a Monday rather than the Tuesday releases of the US (we got all three LOTR:EEs a day earlier too).
