May not mean much considering this is for pick-ups. The scenes Bilbo is in, I would guess, are to a large degree the ones that were always going to be in a 2-movie Hobbit. Also, while we saw little of him, he must have been present for several of the scenes shown (Bard and the Dwarves in the barrels, and the spider scene, to name two) - they just did not choose to feature him in the vlog, showing us instead more about the new characters from the second movie.

Gandalf, Legolas, and Tauriel are fighting the BoFA on the streets of Dale. It is snowing and Gandalf is fighting orcs. What else could it be? Outfitted Thranduil also appears to be battling amongst ruins. They mentioned the armory of dale and it being the setting for a particular scene. It also showed human corpses in the bloodied snow. This can only mean one thing imo... After the dragon Smaug is slain, the people of Laketown come to resettle Dale. The orc army descends upon the region, and the poor people arm themselves from the old Dale armories. If there is fighting in Dale's streets though, this has to be one big battle... it must stretch all the way from Dale to the gates of Erebor? How are the defenders in Dale supposed to rally to Thorin and our company at the gate? Thoughts? I do like PJ's opening segment. He seems to be real excited about the upcoming films and wants to ensure the quality of the upcoming content. I like this.

Thandruil looks wonderful (the little we see of him), and the Lake Town setting is lovely. Great to see the Dwarves again. Costumes and settings look really promising. Appreciate what PJ said about Comic Con at the beginning – far better for him to remain focused on the film. But I don't want any Beorn or Smaug spoilers before the film is released – would really prefer to see those for the first time in the film itself.

In this bit: Nori: All I'm saying, that's the last date we have, ok? Go to a movie, he said. Go down on the beach, but no! I wake up, I'm covered in this stuff. Not only that, those are all those extras over there! ...Nori is saying 'exes' (as in ex-boyfriends), not extras. Boy you've got speedy typing skills to get the transcript done so quickly.
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. I am thrilled to see how multi-dimensional and animated Thranduil comes across as! Was iffy at first about the character but I do like what I am seeing. Confirmation of the other shots we have seen of Thorin within the Mirkwood webbing. Too bad about ComicCon but I thank them ALL for the effort going into the production instead.
Manwe, when asked a simple "Yes" or "No" question, contemplated, and responded "the middle one."

I had a hard time making that line out at all. I've made the change in the transcript.

Surprised its taken them this long for a new blog. The sets and costumes look fantastic-More than can be said for Evanglein Lilly's 'acting' (though if I'm honest I'm pretty dissapointed they completey ignored Tolkien's own, very clear conception of Laketown). Lee Pace shows every sign of being my Richard Armitage (i.e. Giving much unexpected depth to a underdeveloped character-not a fan of Armitage, but Pace looks very very promising), loving Dale in the snow, I'm a little worried that Legolas is being featured so heavily though-don't even try to pretend that's in the appendices PJ!. Glad we are being kept in the dark about Smaug and Beorn. Was really hoping for a sneak peak at Dain, oh well....
This is not a very interesting signature is it?

That's why most of it is elves and Bard. That's my take. PJ is adding scenes with these characters as the Bilbo story line is, as they say, in the can. Glad to see there will be snow.

He was fighting, and not fully costumed. I think he could have just been a stuntie who might end up as an orc or goodness knows what by the time they got done with the scene.

At least from what we saw in the hilarious exercise "video." It's nice that they're showing the passage of time that way and their scraggly 'dos to reflect the rough adventures they've been through. Perhaps by the end of the movie, Kili will have grown an actual beard.

It would add just enough realism but also be nice and subtle.

One of the comments on torn's main page said that Gandalf is weilding a different staff in the glimpse that we him fighting in Dale. What do you guys think? Here's a few screen-shots. http://imgur.com/a/CUv3N It looks like Radagast's staff with its spindly ends rather than the enclosed shape at the top of Gandalf's staff. So is it Radagast's? We know McCoy has said that his staff becomes "important" to the story later on. So this might confirm that Gandalf takes Raddie's staff. There's been a lot of speculation that Radagast will die, and it seems like quite a few people here are comfortable with that idea. Despite the fact that I'm not the biggest fan of how he's been portrayed, I would be wholly uncomfortable with him dying. For me it seems extremely cheap to kill him off just because he doesn't appear in the LOTR trilogy. Does anyone have any other theories? Perhaps Gandalf's staff is simply broken by the Necromancer (ROTK EE Witch-king scene, blech) and Radagast offers his staff to Gandalf. I can't lie, I'm pretty worried about all this.
