Neil Finn, I guess he canīt [In reply to] Can't Post

I wish they could continue the same tone and style for the next two songs, using Tolkienīs poems.

The Song of the Lonely Mountain is so good, they will not pair that

No clue [In reply to] Can't Post

It's actually amazing that the much overplayed Skyfall would be almost appropriate with just a few word changes.

No idea [In reply to] Can't Post

So far the only singers they've used whose names I known have been Enya and Annie Lennox. And surely it will depend very much on the song and which character or characters it relates to.

I thought the last one was way too modern sounding. [In reply to] Can't Post

Or at least rooted in contemporary styles, so it took me out of the film - although of course I was leaving anyway, as the film had finished! Annie Lennox's song was even worse - almost a modern rock ballad. So, I'd be hoping for something more in line with the first two films.

Anyway, these chaps are pretty good:

He has the chops to do it. If you havent heard him sing "One Love" look it up on youtube. I think he would be terrific.

Since Neil Finn sang the first theme [In reply to] Can't Post

and since he was in some New Wave bands of the 80s, I'm going with other artists who were also in the New Wave genre. Nik Kershaw or Phil Oakey of Human League I think would do good vocals. Maybe even the guy from the Thompson Twins. (I can't remember his name.)

Official notice of personal bias: she's my sister. (Doesn't matter, listen to her sing!)

She also has an awesome song about conquering one's fears and our "dragons" that she wrote many years ago, but unfortunately she didn't post it on that website.

And unfortunately there's likely zero chance of anyone in charge of the soundtrack finding out about her.
