"Boy, the BO levels in my tent when through the roof!" [In reply to] Can't Post

Was that related or unrelated to the presence of the Dwarves? Just wondering...Tongue

My Top 5 Wish List for "The Hobbit"
5. Legolas will surf down Smaug's neck
4. Bilbo will be revealed to a Robot
3. Naked PJ cameo as Ghan-Buri-Ghan
2. Use of not only 3D, but smell-o-vision, plus the inclusion of axes coming out of the seats and poking the audience when appropriate
1. Not only keep the claim that Thorin & Co. ran amok in Mirkwood "molesting people", but depict said incident in vivid detail!!!!!

Ya know... [In reply to] Can't Post

I've done my fair share of comparing Jackson to Lucas, but what I've seen from Jackson is that he really stands out in his ability to work with people in a hands on setting, especially his actors. Lucas seemed cold and distant behind the camera during the making of the prequel trilogy. I get the impression that Jackson communicates more, and overall is having a lot of fun, and I can't really rag on him for that.

"You are a very fine person, Mr. Baggins, and I am very fond of you; but you are only quite a little fellow in a wide world after all!" - Gandalf

Darth Bungo: "Gandalf the Gray never told you what happened to your father."
Bilbo Barrel-rider: "He told me enough. He told me you killed him."
Darth Bungo: "No, I am your father."

I noticed some Facebook comments talking about this *book spoilers* [In reply to] Can't Post

Some think it could be post-BoFA, as we're missing the three dwarves that die in the book.

Have we been shown a screenshot of Dain yet? I can't remember now...

In my head, I keep seeing soldiers in full armor behind the white haired character. Anyone else seeing this, too?

If that happens [In reply to] Can't Post

Just, hypothetically, if that were to happen, I'd be interested how the films will handle the darkness of so many deaths of supporting characters. Will a couple of them only be mentioned briefly, or will they show all of them?

Even if the films go exactly by the book, there is still a lot of carnage to be depicted. On that, I side with the people saying TABA will feel quite similar to LOTR in terms of tone.

Either way, it's going to be sad. Here, Ham_Sammy and Brethil are very proactive, taking measures to monopolize the tissue industry in order to ensure all TORNadoes are adequately prepared for December 17, 2014. TongueCoolSmile

"Bombur makes an awesome beanbag chair." :D [In reply to] Can't Post

So what is the right collection noun for a group of Dwarves? Maybe a dwelve of Dwarves? A braid of Dwarves? Something else?

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauronís master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

I agree [In reply to] Can't Post

PJ looks very enthused and happy whilst filming these movies, while Lucas, when I saw him in BtS videos, always seemed to look bored or uninterested in making the prequels, and really only wanted to look at his special effects and not what his actors (or himself for that matter) can bring to the table.

And a group of badgers can be called a company, so I think they get to stay as the company of dwarves.

Missing actors [In reply to] Can't Post

My guess is that John Callen and James Nesbiitt were just absent from the group. Even if these are some of the post-Battle of Five Armies dwarves, I would think Bofur would be among the survivors. He's been set up to be one of the highlighted six dwarves (along with the royalty), so I think taking him out as well as the main three might be a little too much.

Unless [In reply to] Can't Post

Bofur is the one that finds Bilbo and the scene they are filming is Bofur bringing Bilbo back to Gandalf and Thorin at the tent! I think they should have Bofur find him. I think that would be awesome.

Bofur and Bilbo [In reply to] Can't Post

That's a great idea, Ham_Sammy! Now I'll be expecting that to happen.

I had assumed that they were watching a shot of themselves, but it makes sense that they might have just joined PJ for a feed of what was going on outside the tent. Perhaps they're all in there to watch because that's such an iconic and grave sequence of events.

*I do believe that is actually Dain on screen, and he would be around too.

George Lucas was ill [In reply to] Can't Post

He's a diabetic and from what I read, every film put him in the hospital. It's really hard to be friendly when you're feeling awful and know you have to finish.
He's also very shy. I saw him at the Tenth Anniversary Star Wars Convention in LA in 87 and he was super quiet and shy. He just has a very different personality from PJ.

What about.... [In reply to] Can't Post

a stomp of Dwarves? a grunt of Dwarves? a rabble of Dwarves? a hirsute of Dwarves?

Regarding the photo- I really cannot make out much at all on that monitor screen, even if I enlarge it by 400%. However, I noted that the dwarves are all in full costume, so they've obviously just shot a scene. Also they are in their normal clothes, not the armour they wear for BoFA, or would even have on in the immediate aftermath, so I'm not so sure that they are watching THAT scene (Frown)
