Is it possible... Can't Post

I don't know if this has been discussed yet but I was (re!)watching the DOS trailer and wondered if it is possible that some of the dwarves die between escaping Mirkwood and arriving at Laketown?

In the scenes which are clearly post-Mirkwood I have not seen any clear evidence of Bofur, Oin, Gloin or Fili. Furthermore I can only count eight dwarves climbing the HUGE statue outside Erebor...

I know that this would be against canon but who knows what PJ might do...!

What do ye think?

No [In reply to] Can't Post

I saw the live event for DoS and I remember seeing every dwarf in a scene after the barrels. So I would be highly surprised if this was the case.

Darth Bungo: "No, I am your father."

I hope not... [In reply to] Can't Post

Heavens, I should hope not...that would certainly put a damper on things. No, I think that likely what will happen is that the focus will more be on Thorin, Fili and Kili's deaths- to have other dwarves die would make it less...I don't know, heartrending. I know PJ has taken some liberties with The Hobbit but I don't think he'd go that far- furthermore I rather like what he's added. A lot of the changes are similar to Tolkien's original drafts. Go big or go home and all that.

History has remembered the kings and warriors, because they destroyed; art has remembered the people, because they created.

In case you're wondering, my avatar is a detail from 'Miranda- The Tempest', by John William Waterhouse (1916).

Weird coloring [In reply to] Can't Post

In Reply To

Anyone notice some of the dwarves look blue? And Bilbo.

Kili, Fili, Bifur, Nori and Bilbo all have kind of a weird grayish blue cast to them. Kili and Fili in particular look like they belong in the Dead Marshes.

That's because it's an unfinished shot :-) [In reply to] Can't Post

This was from the DOS preview a while back - the CGI and colour grading is unfinished.
