MPAA fleeting rating Can't Post

I know there was a post about sixty back that mentioned the MPAA rating, but since one day has yielded fifty posts I wanted to expand on one of the reasons for the rating. Be forewarned-I am not necessarily a "fan girl". I am a fan, but I will leave the girly squeals and giggles and swooning for others Wink

Does the "fleeting nudity" part of the rating possibly hint that the dwarf and Bilbo bathing scene after the Carrock happens in the film?

I know there are quite a LOT of people on here (Ro, I am thinking of the "thorin fan club" you seem to be unofficially president of here Wink) who have expressed a desire to see said scene in question, but have seriously doubted that PJ will actually do it.

That's the only scene I can think of, or if they treat thorin's warg bite at Beorn's cabin, where they might have need of such a warning.

What are your thoughts? (please keep it family friendly for TOS!)

Also, I do not want to be held responsible for keyboards being water damaged by drooling! Tongue

One can only hope. [In reply to] Can't Post

After they deleted the [possibly hypothetical] Parth Galen nude bathing scene from FotR, we can only hope.

It's [In reply to] Can't Post

Undoubtedly referring to the comical scene of the Dwarves bathing in Rivendell, where they upset Lindir with their antics. This is why we see them in their undergarments drying off in the film. I believe Jackson confirmed this scene being in the EE.

So unless you're looking forward to seeing the backside of someone like Bofur, sorry to disappoint you. Tongue

Fat suits [In reply to] Can't Post

I can't see how there can be a "bathing" scene, when all the Dwarves are padded so much. And THAT wouldn't count as "passing nudity"!

If?...BIG IF! [In reply to] Can't Post

They have the Group Bathing scene
in the River Anduin...If could be dealt with in a Funny way?
Now these hairy little guys are already in the Water
(No need to see them strip.)
The size and Length of their Beards would certainly hide What lies beneath?
Shot from water level, (Just head Shots)
and fairly close in 2's or 3's...
The Beards spread out floating around their Faces could be really Hilarious.
Dori washing Ori's hair, while he protests?
Bofur braiding Bombur's Beard?
Dori running a Comb through his "What you call it?' Hairdo...

Kinda think Thorin, Fili, & Kili would be a bit separated from the rest.
As well, Bilbo and Gandalf might have a scene with them sitting on the shore
giving themselves a Sponge Bath; fairly well clothed.

This would allow Gandalf & Bilbo time to discuss what he thinks of Dwarves, so far?
Which could be a very profound moment.

maybe... [In reply to] Can't Post

I thought I had read somewhere that the Goblin King's throne doubled as a toilet. Perhaps there will be some bathroom humour and we will see his backside. Kind of silly.

I rather hope it's the bathing scene.

I just suppose... [In reply to] Can't Post

...MPAA has just realized that in the previous theatrical rating they oversaw some obvious fleeting nudity:

- Gollum wears nothing but a loinscloth,
- So does Great Goblin and most of the goblins for that part
- Not to forget Azog
- And the three trolls.

So yes, there's a lot of fleeting nudity already there.

Ah, but alas... [In reply to] Can't Post

The "fleeting nudity" bit is for the extended edition of AUJ, right? The Carrock Bathing Scene would belong in DOS. And as much as I can hope PJ would stick to canon there, I can't see him doing it.

I am resigned to the fact that Dwarves divested of their clothes would remain in their fat suits, which I have to admit is just not appealing, and that it's probably much more fun to keep them clothed and leave what's underneath to the imagination. Tongue

Besides, I've discovered the best topless scene ever of Richard Armitage in one of the Robin Hood episodes, and I am quite happy to watch that -- repeatedly -- when I need my fix. Angelic

There *is* an Eru. Wink

I've tried to find MI5 -- Spooks -- here but haven't had any luck so far for the seasons with RA. Might have to order it at some point though the general genre isn't usually my favourite. However, I'm willing to watch nearly anything that Mr. Armitage is in. You know, for educational purposes. If you happen to find which season/episode this particularly educational scene is in, I'd be happy to make that one a priority. Wink

Well.... [In reply to] Can't Post

RA is in seasons 7,8 and 9- series 9 is very focussed on his character. I cannot remember which particular episode "that" scene was in, but a number of the episodes in this series all have some very nice RA scenes, some of which are not all that fleeting either! I have feeling though that "that" scene was in season 8, in a storyline in which he has a relationship with a US agent. I'm afraid he has a lot of women in this series!WinkFrown
