So whose fault are the Matrix elves? WETA or Terry Notary?

After watching the DOS trailer, my main criticism is the strangely running elves. Jumping elves. Lots of them. Too much for my taste. Now while they do look CGI (and thus would be WETA's fault), it could quite well be that they are actors on green screen, just moving as if they were CGI - and that would mean that it's Terry Notary's movement coaching that caused this.

be digital doubles. No doubt about it I think. But I agree, they're probably my least favorite part too. Unfortunatly reminds me of the monkey scene in Kingdom Of the Crystal Skull.

I'm sure he's a very nice man, but I must say from the behind-the-scenes videos I find his contribution kind of pointless and a bit laughable really.

The people who count seem to find his contributions quite significant.

Please take a look at his movie credits and then see if you feel like repeating those remarks. http://www.imdb.com/...953/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1 I'm getting really tired of the glibness with which some people dismiss the professionalism of the crew on these films. Where does the nerve to insult the hard work and creativity of others come from? Anonymity?

Because I'm entitled to my opinion. And it is only his contribution I have questioned on this film, none of the other crew. As I said I'm sure he's a great professional and I appreciate his craft, but I don't see any discernible difference in the movements and fighting styles of the various races here that I didn't in LOTR. Did we have a movement coach on those films?

It might have looked a bit off, but I liked the way they moved, very fast, agile and graceful at the same time.

They did develop different movement and fighting styles for all the races in LOTR, and the Fellowship went through a boot camp very similar to the dwarf boot camp this time around. They worked especially hard with Orlando Bloom to achieve a fluidity of motion, movement, and attack befitting an elf. I don't know if the position had the same title in the credits, but the job is essentially the same.
Did we have a movement coach on those films? Silverlode "Dark is the water of Kheled-zâram, and cold are the springs of Kibil-nâla, and fair were the many-pillared halls of Khazad-dűm in Elder Days before the fall of mighty kings beneath the stone."
