" A Tale of TWO Volcanos?" Can't Post

Okay, Mount Doom is an Active Volcano
sooo. Isn't The Lonely Mountain a Dorment Volcano?

In fact, they are are on the Same Longitude?
LM is about 1,000 miles due North on MD.

Understanding some Geology, the Heat of a Volcano
turns coal into Diamonds.

And we know Sauron forged the ONE
in the Fires of Mount Doom.

Just guessing?
but the Staffs of Light beaming down on Erebor's
Throne room could be from Dormant Vent Tubes
that the Dwarves Windowed over?

Also, a Question about Mount Doom,
did the destruction of the One,
finally extinquish it's Fires?

Bomby's Theory

The Lonely Mountain is a volcano? [In reply to] Can't Post

This didn't occur to me until now. I guess that would explain the diamonds.

Correction: [In reply to] Can't Post

Bomby meant to write that The Lonely Mountain is
an "Extinct Volcano"
Also: High Pressure results in Many
Types of Gem creation.

Plate Tectonics from the Sinking of Beleriand
at the End of the First Age may have
rendered The Lonely Mountain Extinct
and created a New Hot Spot in

These are interesting ideas. I never gave one thought [In reply to] Can't Post

to Mount Doom being an active volcano. The fire may have been extinguished at the end of the Third Age? Wasn't it dormant and quiet throughout most of the Third Age but became active again toward the end of the Age as Sauron became more powerful? Interesting. And, I may be mistaken, but wouldn't The Lonely Mountain be the only volcano ever lived in by Dwarves?
