I'm curious... Can't Post

Is it 'tradition' that PJ will definitely bring the casts down to NZ for every part of the movie? I did some research amd he did that for the LOTR Trilogy. Think we can expect the same with The Hobbit?

For marketing reasons... [In reply to] Can't Post

... I could see the studio wanting the world premieres of DoS and TABA in London or New York.

But I am sure many of them will find their way to the Wellington premiere - even if the world premiere should be somewhere else.

So... That's a 'yes'? [In reply to] Can't Post

I see... I'm actually considering flying over to catch the stars. Just wanna start planning you know. And NZ's cheaper than it is to fly to the London or New York from Singapore. Yeah...

I agree with Arannir [In reply to] Can't Post

that the next two world premiers will be in cities other than Wellington, New York and London being the most probable. I was able to attend the world premier in Wellington this past November, and it was grand and fitting that it premiered in New Zealand. There might be some hoopla associated with the releases in NZ, I would think. But the big world premiers will probably be elsewhere for the next two films. Just my speculations.

I don't 'care' about the big world premieres... [In reply to] Can't Post

As long as they are doing one in Wellington, it's good enough. Btw, is it alwaysat Embassy Theatre?

It was until now. [In reply to] Can't Post

And probably will remain there since they did a lot of rebuildung.

But I can tell you one thing - noone here runs the planning commitee, so those are just fan guesses.

Lucky you [In reply to] Can't Post

I live in the U.S. and can't afford a trip to Wellington (or London and New York) to the premiere. I'd so love to s.ee the stars. But I'll also probably still have classes, and can't cut out. CrazyEvil

Thinking the Same Thing [In reply to] Can't Post

All of these films have meant so much to me, I too am considering a trip to Wellington, perhaps for the premiere of There and Back Again. RotK had a big Wellington premiere, so I don't see why they wouldn't continue that tradition, especially since that will be the very last Tolkien film (at least by PJ).

I just wonder how far ahead of time one should make arrangements: hotels, flights, etc.

I know what you mean... [In reply to] Can't Post

But at least US get most of the good stuff with the movie premieres. Singapore will never have a chance with movie premieres. Seldom anyways. Almost zilsch. Unimpressed

New Zealand! [In reply to] Can't Post

I wouldn't mind going to New Zealand just for New Zealand again. It's a gorgeous country. TABA premiere and more New Zealand would be a dream trip!

That's true [In reply to] Can't Post

But look on the brightside, this gives you a chance to see the premiere in a place like New Zealand where the films were made. Smile It's an excuse to travel and see a different place. Wink

Now what I need to figure out is whether or not I will see Martin Freeman (I'm crazy for him) in this year's NZ premiere of DOS or not and convincing my boyfriend to accompany me over. =/

I know what you mean about Martin Freeman, I'm crazy for him too. Blush I don't see why he wouldn't be there. And as for your boyfriend, tell him if he doesn't go he will miss the chance of a lifetime. It's the NZ premiere of DOS!
