Who are these hobbits? Can't Post

There are two portraits of hobbits hanging up over Bilbo's fireplace that can be seen during the Misty Mountains song. Here's a screencap: http://screencapped.net/...77#top_display_media

Does anyone know who they are? I was thinking maybe Belladona Took and Bungo Baggins, but they don't really look like Bilbo and I would think there would be some resemblance between Bilbo and one or both of his parents. Any ideas on their identity?

I would have to guess Bungo and Belladonna -- however... [In reply to] Can't Post

Alternate Theory: Since Bungo built Bag End for his new bride, the portraits could be of one pair or the other of Bilbo's grandparents.

I think... [In reply to] Can't Post

...they are supposed to be Belladonna and Bungo. And if memory serves me well, the portraits were actually painted to resemble Fran Walsh and Peter Jackson, but don't quote me on this Crazy

I'm failry certain PJ and Co refer to those pictures in the Commentary to the EE of Fotr. [In reply to] Can't Post

From memory I think they were meant to be losely based on portraits of PJ and Co, and yes representing Bilbo's parents, though I could be wrong...

‘As they came to the gates Cirdan the Shipwright came forth to greet them. Very tall he was, and his beard was long, and we was grey and old, save that his eyes were keen as stars; and he looked at them and bowed, and said ‘All is now ready.’

Thanks everyone! [In reply to] Can't Post

So they are Belladona and Bungo! Being based on PJ and Fran Walsh would certainly explain why they don't look like Bilbo at all. I should watch the EE commentaries sometime...
