I need some help. Can't Post

My sister is doing a report on Tom Bombadil. She asked me to look on the Internet for some information on him that would not be found in FOTR. If you have any, please reply. Thank you! Blush

We don't do homework here. [In reply to] Can't Post

If your sister has a specific question, she's welcome to ask it, and we are happy to review what she's prepared. But she needs to do her own work. Smile

I'm not really sure I understand what's being requested but I wanted to point out... [In reply to] Can't Post

...that if Luinnįr's sister is looking for sources about Bombadil other than what is in LOTR than a librarian can help. People forget that librarians are there to help you find resources. They can check what books they have about Tolkien and which ones have info on Bombadil. Then your sister could sit at the library to read these books and take notes or check them out.

Check out "The Adventures of Tom Bombadil" [In reply to] Can't Post

It's a collection of poems by Tolkien, published in 1962. The first two are longish poems that tell us a few things about Bombadil that don't come up in The Lord of the Rings. One poem is called "The Adventures of Tom Bombadil" and the other is "Bombadil Goes A-Boating". You should be able to find this collection in paperback reprint.

It also appears in several anthologies of Tolkien's shorter works, at least one of which might be expected to be in the collection of a good school or public library. One compilation that has it is called The Tolkien Reader (1966), another is Farmer Giles of Ham & The Adventures of Tom Bombadil (1975), a third is Poems and Stories (1994), and most recently we have Tales from the Perilous Realm (1997). Most of these are also available in paperback from online booksellers, and may be on the shelf at your local bookstore. Have fun! Or your sister have fun. Let us know how it goes.
