Do you own The Ring? Can't Post

Hey so I'm about to buy the Ring off of eBay, and I was wondering (really the other way around) if all of you have the ring, what material, what color etc.!

I'm getting a gold colored stainless steel one. ('cause I'm just that cheap)

No, I don't own a Ring, but if I were to buy one, it would probably be the one you have in mind! I'm frugal too Wink

8 carat, [In reply to] Can't Post

I've got a plain One Ring (no scripture). 8 carat gold. I got it as a grad gift and have had it for a couple years now. Though it's been fitted, I only ever wear it on a chain (only on rare occasion do I actually put it on).

Haha, I'd like a different one though. [In reply to] Can't Post

It does beat that, only downside is that by the time it arrives from China, I'll need to wear it just to avoid old age Laugh
I'd rather have the solid 24k gold version though :(

Thanks about the avatar, as soon as I saw that on Imgur I knew it was to be mine.

Why would anyone want it? Or, if you do, why should we trust you?

Shhh! [In reply to] Can't Post

DON'T TALK THAT WAY ABOUT MY PRECIOUSSSSS!

But seriously, you know you want one...
Instead of sitting in a cave with my nothing on but my loincloth eating live fish, I'll be in my house with nothing on but my undies, eating cooked fish; and fondling my Preciousss...

You know, in any other forum, I'd automaticly think you were joking; but in a forum dedicated to a book series written in the mid-1900's, I have to wonder...

I have two. [In reply to] Can't Post

Actually my son claims one is his. Ours came with LOTR Trivial Pursuit game and the other with LOTR Risk game. They are both the inexpensive type, but we've had it for over 10 years.

Nice! [In reply to] Can't Post

That's pretty neat, quite the Lord of the Rings huh? It's amazing you've kept up with them for so long, and that after coming with a board game, that the rings still retain their shape!

Here I thought the 3 I had were the only ones [In reply to] Can't Post

Somehow none (I have two versions of Risk and TP) have been lost either... kept hidden and kept safe, that's the trick. Wink

ETA now that I think of it, I have a couple others too, though I can't remember where they came from... one I found somewhere I think.

Keep it secret, keep it safe is the way to do it. [In reply to] Can't Post

I have actually kept it from my kids all this time; that's why my son thinks one should be his! However, there can only be one lord of the rings in the household and she does not share power!

I have one [In reply to] Can't Post

I have a Ring that came attached to a Lord of the Rings bookmark. It's a bit smaller than average (only fits on my pinky finger) but it's gold and has the Black Speech inscription on it. I always have it in my pocket when I use my Bilbo costume. In fact, I had it with me at the C2E2 comic convention in Chicago. Meant to take it out for photo ops but forgot. I mostly fingered it in my pocket and frequently checked that I hadn't lost it. Very Bilbo-esque behavior actually.

along with the one I got in LOTR Trivial Pursuit! I love that game! It's fun to be the best one at it in your household!SmileWink
I usually wear mine on a chain too, since it looks really cool like that and it's too big to fit on my finger without slipping off anyway.Smile

I have a couple of cheap ones. [In reply to] Can't Post

One came on a bookmark, and the other sits in a plastic volcano that lights up when you push a button, a gift from a student. I'm not sure what they're made out of; some kind of metal. I'm guessing steel or brass. They're painted with gold paint.

I have to confess that when I got married, 34 years ago, my plain gold wedding ring used to make me think of the One Ring :-D

The One Ring [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't have one yet but coming across this poll I went to ebay for fun and I actually bought a brand new one at a very low price and free shipping. It is from China and made from tugsten carbide which is supposed to be very solid metal (I won't put an axes on it though). Anyway I don't intend to wear it much, just to have it a as collectible item.
