Sooo.. What's everyone's thinking about Same Sex Marriage in NZ? Can't Post

Amazing clip about it. Many in the Galley started singing
a Maori love song...which was so Cool.
Having worked in the Theatres and Arenas for many years
Bomby has many GLBT friends, so am all for it.

On the other hand, no one yet has provided a rational example as to how a same-sex marriage harms their heterosexual one.

And I hope that it's not too long before other countries (especially America) make it their standard, too.

Cool

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

Congrats NZ! [In reply to] Can't Post

I'm typically nervous about approaching political topics on the boards (I'm very opinionated Cool), but just wanted to say how happy I am for the Kiwis who will now get to enjoy the happiness of marriage! Great news. Smile (Now if only the US could get its act together!)

"All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds awake to find that it was vanity; But the dreamers of day are dangerous men. That they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it possible."

Bomby, do you know about this guy? [In reply to] Can't Post

Maurice Williamson's speech has been getting him some attention. Apparently he is going to appear on Ellen.
Nice. Cool

I was listening to live radio coverage when the bill was passed. It will definitely rate up there as one of the times I have felt proudest to be a Kiwi.

Global Marriage and Gay Warming... [In reply to] Can't Post

...will end civilization as we know it.

Hopefully.

******************************************
The audacious proposal stirred his heart. And the stirring became a song, and it mingled with the songs of Gil-galad and Celebrian, and with those of Feanor and Fingon. The song-weaving created a larger song, and then another, until suddenly it was as if a long forgotten memory woke and for one breathtaking moment the Music of the Ainur revealed itself in all glory. He opened his lips to sing and share this song. Then he realized that the others would not understand. Not even Mithrandir given his current state of mind. So he smiled and simply said "A diversion.”

I think its legal up here across Canada....but maybe not in all our provinces? Ian McKellan just tweeted about it being legal in Montreal (therefore the province of Quebec) for something like 8 years?
Let it happen!

What's the matter, James? No glib remark? No pithy comeback?"

Civil unions have been available here since 2005, [In reply to] Can't Post

including for same-sex couples.
The new law here means that same-sex couples can now choose to marry, if they wish. So now everyone is on a level playing field. Smile

But you were well ahead of us in Canada, judging by a quick search.
