Stop giving the news announcements now and wait until I'm done studying ;) (BTW, that is great news. Scouting locations already? Wow, they certainly move fast).

Must retain decorum, must retain decorum...
Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..." Dwarves: "Pretty rings..." Men: "Pretty rings..." Sauron: "Mine's better." "Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauron’s master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded b*****d with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak. Filming in NZ. With WETA Workshop and WETA digital doing all the effects, props, costumes, bigatures, Alan Lee and John Howe doing the artworkk, and Howard Shore attempting to write a score with absolutely no songwriting input from Fran and Philippa. Will David Salo be back, and will the new director know to email him constantly for language problems? No script likely from them either. All this, and Our Three monitoring the film's progress from a lonely office somewhere. Or worse yet, in their own backyard. All is going right...except Peter, Fran and Philippa won't be there. Hardly ever, and NEVER In the ways that made LOTR the magical thing it was. All the time I am reading this, not a day will go by that I do not imagine Peter, Fran and Philippa following the film's progress and knowing what could have been. Knowing what could have been 50 yrs from now. Imagining the looks on their faces every day that goes by, , and what they will be talking about. Sorry guys, but this is like 1998 and reading that Mirimax got the films and it would be one film. That's what this is for me. I've read a lot about the machinations of Hollywood and my spidey-sense (pun, uh, intended) is not tingling in a good way. I wonder: will New Line be requesting that, to save money, Peter dismantle the Bag End set in his backyard, and lend it to this new director?
