1.) Any thoughts on the balance in this shot? How does the light and dark clash? What emotions does it invoke in you? The starkness. Its almost monochrome. It has a chilly feel to it, especially with the snow-capped mountains in the background and the shadowed stonework in he foreground. 2.) Does Helm's Deep really come across as a stronghold here in contrast with the surroundings? (note the size/location of mountains, the crows, etc.) Well it should, surrounded by higher peaks - but in this shot, because you don't see the sweep of the wall, I think it feels exposed, and open, especially with the crebain above. 3.) Any other thoughts or comments? The soldiers on the wall from the back all look so much like the carved statue of Helm. The crebain seem more alive than the men. (A stronghold or a tomb?) Not sure I would want to be there!
