And by today's standards he didn't live to be old either. I've never been a fan of Harry Potter personally, but I remember enjoying his character very much in the earlier films which I did watch. I also liked his brief but memorable cameo as King George in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean installment. RIP, a sad day indeed.

I enjoyed the storylines, but I also appreciated a bigger person having a lead role. I thought Richard Griffiths was excellent - but when I also saw him as Uncle Vernon I realised just how good he was. Fondly remembered on screen, sadly missed.
