For those of you who play Rome Total War, I would highly advise you to go out *(if you havent done so already)* and grab FATW: The New Shadow. It is a mod for Rome Total War. You will need the Barbarian Invasion Expansion pack, but it is VERY well done. Complete with a map of Middle Earth as well as the correct models for the various armies, it even has it's own soundtrack. Please keep in mind though, that this takes place in the fourth age, not the third. It is the age of man. There are some Elves, but it mainly builds upon some of the writings of Tolkien in which a cult of Sauron would start to appear and sunder the Reunited Kingdom of Gondor. It makes for some very interesting fights. And if you are like me, and was yelling at Theoden for charging a Mumakil, now you can show everyone else how you really take down one of those beasts. *(hint: it involves fire and several catapults from afar)* http://www.thefourthage.org/home/

My older son plays Rome: Total War and would be very interested in this mod.
With caffeine, all things are possible. The pity of Bilbo will screw up the fate of many.

Just to let you know - the Fourth Age continues to be developed and is set for final release this year (2011) in its fulness (the first Middle-earth mod for the Total War series to be completed)... The link above is no longer valid. The forums are now at http://www.twcenter.net/...orumdisplay.php?f=89 Recently two dev diary videos have been released for this Middle-earth lore-based (not movie-based) mod set in the Fourth Age.... You can view them here: http://www.youtube.com/...#p/a/u/1/_Xo9NoEpz1Y Sorry for the necro post, but thought I'd correct the URL the person above posted!
