Future songs Can't Post

Andwise's post about possible song artists for the movies got me wondering:

Do you think PJ will continue in the other two films to feature Tolkien lyrics? If so which songs from The Hobbit do you think would be the most likely candidates?

The one for the second movie that seems most likely to me is "The King Beneath the Mountains", with "The Wind was on the Withered Heath" as a strong runner up. Both of these would seem to be good ones for the middle movie. (Though I also like the Elves' Barrel Song!)

But what about the last movie? "Under the Mountain Dark and Tall" would seem like a good choice, though rather ironic. Or there is "The Dragon is Withered" though it might need some alterations since it turns into a "tra-la-lally" at the end. It could be made a little more serious with just a few adjustments, as they did in RotK when Pippin sang "Upon the Hearth". The last choice might be a version of "Roads Go Ever Ever On" near the end. There've already been some great versions of that song done; I love the version in the LOTR musical and also the one Beleriand did in "The Starlit Jewel".

What do you think? Will PJ continue as he began with Tolkien lyrics, or will he return to his choice of original songs for the next two movies?

The last one should be The Road goes Ever on and On [In reply to] Can't Post

I think it would be great if Freeman did it too. I know he can sing.

No, really [In reply to] Can't Post

In LotR, it's "The Road Goes Ever On and On" but in the last chapter of TH, it's "Roads Go Ever Ever On"!

"Roads go ever ever on
Over rock and under tree,
By caves where never sun has shone,
By streams that never find the sea."

But, yes, it would be awesome if Freeman himself sang it!!

My bad [In reply to] Can't Post

You are correct. Yep I would still want Freeman to sing it. He did a great job with One Love. He can do it!
