The Old Walking Song Can't Post

In the FOTR Complete Recordings track seven is the song "Keep It Secret Keep It Safe" and the part comes in where Bilbo is singing "The Road Goes Ever On", I'd never heard him sing the first 4 verses before, in the movie he only sings the first 2 and then the sound trails away. so when I first heard it, it struck me as a scottish sounding tune, then I thought about how the dwarves could be considered scottish or at least scottish inspired, some of the dwarven songs in the hobbit soundtrack has a very scottish feel to them and Balin and Gimli are always calling everyone "Laddie". So it got me thinking that The old walking song was dwarven inspired i wonder if that was on purpose or what
