You have some good points, but somehow I find it hard to imagine her dying. Between the other emotional deaths that will take place, and her being the only major female character other than Galadriel, it seems a bit too much to kill her off. But it's just a hunch on my part too, I could be wrong!

In the book, Bard really stands out as the go-to guy with a bow. Now, not so much. He'll have to kill Smaug while blindfolded and pulling the now with his teeth to make it worthwhile.
I have one more concern, well I´m very negative lately. I saw the photo where Legolas and Bard appear, and then you have Tauriel and Kili and they are archers too, I dont know but, if they do too much awesome killing with arrows, maybe when Bard´s moment arrives another arrow moment would be too much?

Heck, we've only seen brief footage of her in a production vlog and in Lego form, and here we are deciding how best for PJ to off her. He came close before (Arwen slowly dying on her settee, Eowyn getting Witchking blowback), but he couldn't follow through due to obvious plot constraints. Here he is free to strike a blow for gender equality and let her die, rather than linger with her unrequited whatever for whomever.

If she dies, since she doesn't really exist to begin with. I love the movie adaptation, but I'm not too fond of made up characters!

I, for one, really hope theat she DOESN'T die. I really hate the thematic "killing people off because they've done their part," and I really like Evangeline Lily, lol. I know some people have said they will kill her off to "tie up loose ends" about her not being present later, but you don't hear anything about most of the dwarves that survive later on either... They can simply just send her off to Valinor or something.

It's all about how much screen time they can give their characters. Weight it according to minutes and you'll get close an answer to how well or poorly developed any story is with her.
Bilbo-Thorin-Gandalf-Thranduil-Bard-Balin-3 or 4 dwarves with significant time.
Someone else did a nice breakdown of minutes and lines that each character had for AUJ.
This film jumbles all that around, since the focus is mostly going to be Bilbo and Thorin and the three elven characters for a good chunk of time, then switch to Bard/Master and Smaug.

I was not sure if you were confused and thought Tauriel was going to be a male character! I'm not usually a grammar nitpicker, though I do try to write grammatically.

She is clearly Jackson's self insert Mary Sue character and should therefore not be taken seriously.
It is likely that she will play a major role and fulfill her ultimate destiny as an OC: to win the hearts of all the main characters.
