I don't know if I imagine this but I don't care anyway as I think its great.when frodo is about to climb aboard the ship at the end of ROTK,he's looking back towards Sam,pippin and merry.as he moves he looks again and in my mind looks just at Sam and then he makes a last glance which is directly to camera and does a little smile and almost a nod.I love this and have pointed it out to my kids,saying 'watch for it now,he's going to look and smile at YOU' and when he did it they absolutely loved it as they are almost nearly always in tears at that point anyway.this really makes a lovely connection with the audience.I may be wrong,PJ and Elijah might not have had any intention of making it look like this at all but I like to believe that's what's happening as it makes a great ending even better.any thoughts?
