He carries it so well you don't even notice it's there! But it is. It's slung on his left side as they're running from the Orcs/Wargs before Rivendell; it's there when they leave Rivendell; you have to use your imagination for Goblin-town; and obviously he's got it when they escape Goblin-town too.

I've looked for it on his pony while he's riding, but have trouble looking at the pony's gear instead of him. As our esteemed Ataahua said, only Thorin could sound manly while saying "Give him a pony!". One his best lines.
