Links Can't Post

OK so I wanted to add a link to an OT post. I hit the link button, entered the URL and hit Submit. Nothing happened.

You can either... [In reply to] Can't Post

1 - just paste the url into the Advanced Editor and it will convert it into a link

2- highlight the text you want to make into a link before you click on the link button.

Need I say....no, I thought not Wink

Are you using IE or Firefox? [In reply to] Can't Post

If not, the Advanced Editor toolbar may not work for you.

You'll have to hit the "Switch to Basic Editor" button and do it the old fashioned way. Once you're in "Basic Editor" go to the "Get Markup Help" and scroll to the bottom for how to enter links and links with text. Smile

For what it's worth, I'm using Camino (a Mozilla browser I think) on a Mac. I put that link in through the advanced editor by typing it into the message, highlighting it, clicking the link button, and typing the link into the box that appeared and clicked submit.

My blog

And for that link I typed "My blog" in the message, highlighted it, and so forth.

So it works in Camino.

OK so it works if I type text, highlight it and then use the Link button.

Code for urls [In reply to] Can't Post

I use the basic editor as i prefer to code it rather than use the auto-thingie.

I cannot figure out how to create code text for a hyperlink. Most boards let you do this:

[ url=http://tytytytyt.com ]text[ / url ] (spaces removed)

That doesn't seem to work here. Can anyone assist? Thx!

In Basic Editor, try the "Markup Help" link at the top of the Reply screen [In reply to] Can't Post

Though it looks like you have the syntax correct:

<url "http://www.gossamer-threads.com">text in here</url>

...except with [brackets] instead of <...>
