that Bard in his childhood may have received archery instruction from Legolas. And therefore during the events of these movies they will have already known each other a long time. Just a wild, unsubstantiated guess. If it turns out that way, that would help explain why Bard will be able to make that highly improbable shot that the plot requires of him. BTW in answer to the OP: Legolas. That is based on what we have seen of him in the movies so far, what we know of Elves from the movies and books, and what we know of the story. If Bard turns out to be the better or more seasoned, accomplished archer somehow, that would be quite jarring to me. If they turn out to be "equally" good by the time of the next couple of movies, that might be ok but only if Bard learned it from the Elves, preferrably from Leggy himself. Hence my hypothesis.
