Hey Tolkien Fans! Can't Post

Greetings from Berlin,

I wanted to introduce myself briefly as a new member of the forum. I'm a Hollywood filmmaker on a world lecture tour. I came across this website while conducting research for my Fall 2012 University of Copenhagen's Masters Class "THE WRITER'S JOURNEY" for Film and Media Studies. The class covers Hollywood blockbusters that have transcended age, race, culture and time. From a list of 50 films, the students had to choose their top 5 favorites -- "The Lord of the Rings" was one of the students' top picks.

I just finished at the University of Copenhagen, and I will be giving two seminars in Berlin this February, and then will continue on to Spain. One project that I am embarking on during my travels around the world is a virtual classroom for aspiring storytellers and filmmakers. All the material from every lecture and seminar that I perform will be uploaded onto my Youtube channel, so interested students around the world may view the content at no charge (especially those who cannot afford University or film school).

The goal of the project is to raise the level of conversation about movies and inspire the next generation of storytellers. It includes my commentary on today's Hollywood blockbusters, along with interviews that I will be conducting with entertainment industry professionals.

My University of Copenhagen lecture covers Act I of "The Fellowship of the Ring", and I will be uploading the remaining videos in the next few days.

The lecture is titled "The Writer's Journey into Middle Earth", and can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLYpCC-hK59rEvVOWkQ0hC1kDn562TqMMb

For both my benefit and yours, I would greatly appreciate any comments you may have before I get an opportunity to cover the entire trilogy. Keep in mind that this course is for aspiring film and media professionals (although I'm pleasantly surprised it has attracted a much wider audience).

If you enjoy the content, please subscribe to my channel to receive additional videos that I will be uploading during and after my tour.

I hope to create a fellowship with many of you on this journey of "The One Ring"!

Warmest Regards,
Steven Bratter
