Before “THE HOBBIT” In HFR, There Was “OKLAHOMA!" Can't Post

An article on the Disney site, micechat.com.
http://micechat.com/...e-the-hobbit-in-hfr/

It's a short review of the history of using HFR in movies and theme parks, leading up to The Hobbit as the first feature film run in HFR in 60 years.

interesting [In reply to] Can't Post

its really interesting that all the wow factor films of imax art house , time lapse, nature, 3d etc are generally ones that push frame rates and or film formats.

the reason why nature films are so good to watch are becuase most are shot a lot of the times at higher frame rates, sure they slow them down afterwards to 24 but its the same information we are seeing.

same with theme park sand other crazy film experiements!! the average 24fps shot cinema is gonna look old one day soon!
