LOL! Love your "wargs"! [In reply to] Can't Post

They're ready to run off into the snow! Laugh

Fascinating pictures, thank you, especially the forest! But someone ought to tend to those poor sheep - before they start imitating the Great Goblin too much Tongue.

I am particularly attracted to 'Mirkwood'. [In reply to] Can't Post

They had a bit of a blow through there. The effect is mesmerizing. Love it.

It looks like a stylised pencil sketch, doesn't it? / [In reply to] Can't Post

Celebrimbor: "Pretty rings..."
Dwarves: "Pretty rings..."
Men: "Pretty rings..."
Sauron: "Mine's better."

"Ah, how ironic, the addictive qualities of Sauronís master weapon led to its own destruction. Which just goes to show, kids - if you want two small and noble souls to succeed on a mission of dire importance... send an evil-minded beggar with them too." - Gandalf's Diaries, final par, by Ufthak.

Yes, for the absolute absence of color i think.. [In reply to] Can't Post

And for the grand flair for parallel-ism.

And Eruonen, I was reminded of one as well.

It was this one. Cool

Yes indeed, in fact, in the photo, I think you can just see [In reply to] Can't Post

the Elvenking's gate....distant middle.

The newspaper caption states:

"Like a painting: Snow-blasted trees in Compton Down, Shaftesbury, are reminiscent of the work of artist David Hockney"

I am not familiar with Hockney.

His use of color is totally different of course.

I think that second one [In reply to] Can't Post

that you have captioned Dol Guldur is Castell Coch in Wales. Its rather a pretty little castle - more Elvish than Dark Lord !

Agree, it has had a make over following the expulsion [In reply to] Can't Post

of evil from Mirkwood.

It appears to be a very scenic area of Wales.

That was my favorite too. [In reply to] Can't Post

It really does look like Tolkien's drawings of woods.
