Oh how beautiful! [In reply to] Can't Post

Those photos are lovely, sil - I like how you caught the light and how it sparkles!

We had flurries, but sadly not enough to catch any magical moments like you have :-).

It's only January, perhaps we'll get our chance yet!

Thanks for the 'oooooooh' break today Heart.

Nice [In reply to] Can't Post

We have gotten a visit (or three or four) from Mr. Frost, but it's not so spectacular here in California

Those photos are beautiful. Is that frost on a window pane?

I think we drove by there in 2011. I hate to think of that lovely area on fire!

There's just too much of an imbalance between rain and fire, cold and hot these days. Where are the weather wizards?

oh, yeah... [In reply to] Can't Post

It got down to about -14 at the lowest the last few days. The high on at least one of those days was also below zero.

We kind of have perpetual frost on some windows in the winter. But nothing as striking as your photos.

Here's an old desktop wallpaper I did from a haiku years ago:
http://www.amagpiesnest.com/...ages/fingerprint.jpg

I used to make little footprints in the frost on the school bus windows. Anyone else do this?

You curl up your hand and use the pinkie finger edge to make the foot and then use your finger tips to make five toes. Like this.

Poetry in ice! Wink

That is some lovely frost you've got there, sil! We put in new windows a few years back, so alas, no such beauty graces them now. Unsure

But we do get it on the car windows! Laugh

It's actually been comfy here, in the 'teens (around -10 C) but no wind, just clear sky and crisp air. Not at all like what's in Magpie's territory, now that is on the cold side!

We've just been dodging high temps, bushfires and the odd cyclone Unsure

This one at Benger had us a bit worried we wouldn't be able to get home if they didn't get it under control before it hit the highway. Thankfully they did and the high winds held off till the day after we got home.

in the opposite direction, with stifling heat and all that goes with that. But i am glad you all are ok.

I guess all we can do Kelio, with our opposite seasons, is to exchange a bit of our elemental extremes so in some way, alleviate a bit of what mother nature gives us, maybe even joke about it a little. So with that sentiment, here is another, more pleasurable type of 'wintery' link you may like, for a couple of reasonsSmile

It's been shirtsleeve weather here in Colorado, so no frost. But I'm sure I'll get an opportunity sometime before summer.

That looks unpleasantly familiar. There was a small wildfire here last week, but they got it out right away. Very unusual for midwinter.
