The Hobbit reopens theater. Can't Post

Almost 6 months to the day since the Aurora theatre
Shootings that killed 12 & injured 70
re-opened with the Hobbit.

Our governor, police chief and 2000 first responders, families wounded and nurses got some healing from our beloved movie.

Touching [In reply to] Can't Post

Yeah, I heard this on NPR on my drive to work.

I could not help to think that the lines Gandalf speaks to Galadriel in Rivendell have something to do with why they chose this movie Smile

Don't be hasty.

I didn't know that. [In reply to] Can't Post

I knew it had reopened, of course. My son lives in Aurora and that was the theater my kids often went to. It was a terrifying night for me, since they often go to midnight movies. I was relieved to find out they hadn't been there, but of course was very, very sad for the people who were. My son went out and bought and Aurora flag afterward and hung it on his door.

It feels really good that The Hobbit was the movie to re-open it.

"For DORA BAGGINS in memory of a LONG correspondence, with love from Bilbo; on a large wastebasket. Dora was Drogo's sister, and the eldest surviving female relative of Bilbo and Frodo; she was ninety-nine, and had written reams of good advice for more than half a century."

I'm glad it's reopening with a story by J.R.R. Tolkien feels so appropriate. Facing incredibles odds with hope, faith , friends, forgiveness, tolerance, and bravery. Thank you for this...
