glad it made you chuckle..... Not sure about Saturday or Sunday....going to try.....but tomorrow....going in morning....then taking one of the grandsons for an early evening show. Have to keep fingers crossed that I can squeeze one or two viewings on the weekend. Hubby was battling cold (and you know how sick hubbies can be, even with a silly little cold,,,lol...such babies, hee hee hee) last weekend. So this weekend we HAVE to take down the Christmas decorations this weekend. Hate that job...yuck. My goal is to hit at least 31 viewings... Why 31??? Don't know...just more than I did for each of the three LOTRs and more than each of the 6 Star Wars, (in theaters that is) Include VHS and DVD watching...I'm in triple digits for some...

You have TOTALLY listed so many of the things I love about this film! Gandalf's beard not catching fire, Ori's hands when he's frustrated about them being on their own, Bilbo's robe (which should have been a solid green like in Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy ;) and all those other points. SO FUN!! And I love your observation about the blue glow not showing up in daylight. You know what other geeky little things I love? Gandalf's hands when he's talking at the White Counsel about not being at war; Radagast's laugh and those rabbits TEARING LIKE MAD all over the place when they're drawing off the wargs; Bilbo's little whimper so many times in Bag End; Bofur's relentless description of Smaug when he can clearly see that Bilbo's losing it! I LOVE BOFUR! The way Bilbo and he move in to look at the map while Gandalf and Thorin are talking. And Gandalf... everything Gandalf... he's incredible :) Oh geez... there are so many GREAT things in this flick!

that I'm not 100% sure about the Gloin amd Bifur sightings, but I really think I did see them. I'm going by how many of the Dwarves survived the battle who would still be loyal to Thorin and be of that same age as Dwalin and Balin who were definitely there. In one of the wide shots of the survivors of the battle, I notice a dwarf in the background that looks a lot like an un-injured Bifur to me... and a dwarf that has the same hair colouring and stature as Gloing walking from our right to the left at about the same time. ALL of the dwarves are so battle-worn and messed up, that it's hard to really tell... but using my personal checklist of age, numbers of survivors, and Thorin/Balin talking about those who responded to Thorin's call just fits. Like I said, I can't say fersher until I get ahold of a remote and hit pause... but I've really looked over several viewings, and I keep coming up with the same impression :) Thank you so much for your kinds words. I'm very touched :) Thank you!

Ori also uses it to knock out a warg that's chasing him as they run to the trees! Swings it right over his head and konks it behind him as they run past Bilbo. I'll go and have another peek at how the weapons got switched around... which is REALLY so very cool when you think of how they all scrambled to get a weapon when Gandalf saved them and they were tossing weapons all over the place to each other. That also is a good explanation of how surprised Kili is when he blocks arrows being shot at him with a sword. He's usually doing the arrow-shooting and doesn't wield a sword. This is great! THANKS!

I've seen it once in 2-D with my family, and this weekend my daughter and I are finally going to see it in IMAX 3-D. I don't think it will be in the theater much longer here, so very excited to see it again, especially with your observations to guide me. Thank you again
" Well well!", said a voice. "Just look! Bilbo the hobbit on a pony, my dear! Isn't it delicious!" "Most astonishing wonderful!"

I'm lucky...my theater is 5 minutes from my house. A few more minutes if the three lights I have to go through are red. And there are 24 'houses' (screens) there.

one house is IMAX (plans are for a 2nd) and the other 23 can be 2D, 3D and now even the HFR, which is cool.
