given that these are the British awards and all, I thought they might be more generous than what we'll likely see on Thursday. I was hoping maybe for some nominations in Art Direction, Costume Design, and Original Score. Alas, the 3 it got are probably what we're looking at for the Oscars as well. Plus, Spielberg missed for Best Director?! That's just weird. On the upside, my favorite film of the year, Anna Karenina, got 6 nominations including Best British Film. So yay!
"All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds awake to find that it was vanity; But the dreamers of day are dangerous men. That they may act their dreams with open eyes to make it possible." - T.E. Lawrence

But my guess is that as The Hobbit is a three-parter and the critical reaction wasn't as enthusiastic as the box office they're waiting for the whole series to prove itself. Here's hoping it will, in their eyes (for me it's proven itself already - I love it).
