Is the quality of the sound/music dependent on the version or the theatre. Can't Post

I found the sound in the 3DHFR showing much better than the 2D version I went to but the 3D viewing was in a more modern and I think pretty much state of the art cinema.

If I saw a 2D version in a reallynew cinema, would the sound have been as good as the 3DHFR version?
