More drunken Dwarf shenanigans [In reply to] Can't Post

I want to see more merry-making around Bilbo's table. The cheer is not only fun to watch but contrasts the later gravity of the story.

Music in Elrond's house [In reply to] Can't Post

It was all too brief, but it does look like they left out more of the feasting at Rivendell. Perhaps it was a pacing decision. I wouldn't mind seeing more music there (no fa-la-la, of course)

More scenes in Rivendell [In reply to] Can't Post

In different parts of rivendell hopefully making it feel like a bigger place - maybe bilbo with narsil or just walking around some halls?

More Erebor prologue [In reply to] Can't Post

I'd really been looking forward to more of what the dwarves' lives used to be like but it's still possible we'll get more in DOS.

If not, then in the EE I want more of their previous lives. I had a friend who was a femal dwarf extra - one who didn't appear in the movie. She adored the look of the female dwarves and her scene clearly showed them in their previous life - lots of bling and beautiful clothes. I'd love too see my friend, but I'd also like to see more of their previous 'private lives' so we get a better sense of what they've lost.

What you said, plus... (First: Great Rings) [In reply to] Can't Post

1- Something about the Nine, Seven and Three Great Rings
2- Explain why the Eagle cannot bring you wherever whenever you want
3- Improve CGI on Radagast's sled
4- Remove/change the last line of the Goblin Kink and change the scene with the subsequent falling bridge... horrible, almost ruined the entire movie. Also the punch line (what was that... "you got to be joking!" at the end... out of place.
5- Elrond and Bilbo interaction... maybe Elrond talking to Bilbo about Narsil and then realizing he has Sting, maybe he could tell him why it glows while the other elven blades do not... like Gandalf implied...

We will see thrain In dos [In reply to] Can't Post

It was confirmed. So I am excited. About that. Besides Phillipa Boyens really likes it.

Narsil [In reply to] Can't Post

Bilbo's scene with Narsil is my number one must have. But there's plenty of other things I'm looking forward to as well.

All I want is a bit more character development [In reply to] Can't Post

All 3 LOTR movies felt like I was watching a preview for the extended cut. I hated that, it was like "okay, you waited all year to see the movie, and now you have to wait another year to see the entire thing." The Hobbit is the first of the Tolkien movies where I felt like the theatrical cut was pretty much perfect as is. The only thing I can really think of that they could add is some more character development for the dwarves (though they really didn't get much in the book either) and give Bilbo a scene or two where he's thinking about home. At the end of the movie he talks about how he misses home, but we really don't have any scenes showing that.

I also would like to see Bilbo with Narsil, just because it was in the trailer and I was waiting for it. The stuff with Gandalf at Dol Goldur I assume they're saving for the next movie.

you sure? [In reply to] Can't Post

the Thrain/Gandalf subplot will be in DOS not on the AUJ EE as confirmed by Phillipa Boyens on a recent interview, unless your talking about another scene.

take me down to the woodland realm where the trees are green and the elf women are pretty, oh will you please take me home!!

a few that I don't think were mentioned yet [In reply to] Can't Post

-The High Fells (Nazgul tombs)
-someone mentioning that Kili and Fili are Thorin's nephews
-Bilbo at the market
-the young Bilbo flashback (I think this one is pretty much confirmed)
-a little dialogue between the dwarves while they're captured by the goblins
-Bilbo saying he's found his courage. (seen at Comic Con)

My list [In reply to] Can't Post

More Thranduil and Erebor scenes
Longer scenes of Elf riders fighting wargs and orcs
Elrond taking off his armor or something
More Lindir
More Rivendell, falconry, banquet, observatory
Elrond with Bilbo and talking about Narsil

My second time watching I noticed that the scene right before the moon runes in the observatory behind Elrond there is a room full of elven armor. I was amazed at the level of detail and attention paid to this movie. Nothing like seeing an armory storage room within the observatory or library.

pretty sure [In reply to] Can't Post

It's described in detail in the art book. And some of the shots in the trailers match the sketches, so not every shot of Gandalf wandering around ruins was Dol Guldur. It was supposed to take place before Gandalf met up with the dwarves in the Misty Mountains after they left Rivendell.

And I think the scene with Radagast and Gandalf that was shown at Comic Con might have been part of that scene based on the descriptions I remember.

More of Dale and Erebor.... [In reply to] Can't Post

More quiet interactions between characters generally...

Bilbo's childhood meeting with Gandalf....

More Shire, more Rivendell - there was mention somewhere of a scene between Elrond and Bilbo; also the trailer moment of Bilbo seeing the shards of Narsil....

More dwarf and elf music....

More. Just more.

Well... [In reply to] Can't Post

I don´t mind that some of the dwarves don´t talk much in this particular movie, but I missed the Aragorn/Boromir-Legolas/Gimli-Gandalf/Frodo-kind of dialogue.

Since they leave Rivendell,(and even in Rivendell itself), there are few simple dialogue scenes between the members of the company.

They would fit nicely in Rivendell, just before the rock giants, before Goblin Town, and perhaps before Rivendell, when they are travelling through those beautiful landscapes of Middle Earth.

To put it simply, I missed dialogue in-between action sequences.

Moria flashback, Erebor/Dale prologue, Shire...Yep, you pretty much said everything else I´m hoping for! Wink

However, I would also like a little scene with Gandalf leaving Rivendell, so that his adequate timing in Goblin Town feels a bit more realistic, (ye, I know that a wizard comes precisely when he means to, just saying.)Tongue

Gollum [In reply to] Can't Post

I hope to see more Gollum. Were all the riddles from the book included in the theatrical cut? If they weren't, we could possibly see more riddles in the EE...Smile
