It wasnt the tolkien estate from the link provided but Sael Zantz company/middle earth enterprises who are the people who hold the film rights.

nothing to do with the tolkien estate. Its the same people who went after the pub in England.

Fascinating! I think she's beautiful. [In reply to] Can't Post

I don't get "She's not what you'd call pretty" at all.

"For DORA BAGGINS in memory of a LONG correspondence, with love from Bilbo; on a large wastebasket. Dora was Drogo's sister, and the eldest surviving female relative of Bilbo and Frodo; she was ninety-nine, and had written reams of good advice for more than half a century."

exactly, Aunt Dora! [In reply to] Can't Post

I thought she was pretty as well, very kind eyes and pleasant smile. The article writer who said she wasn't pretty was a bit snarky there!

Aethelwyne Bolger. Because Bellawen Bolger and Arianna Greenleaf just aren't me!

I think that the most we can obtain [In reply to] Can't Post

is the basic shape of the face and skull. Notice the jaw is not really revealed in the make-up as in the profile of the skull. I know the eyes are the windows to the soul, and i'd dearly love to have found a way to recover that.

The 'wrist bones' being non-human probably is an indication that the fingers were also and without an opposing thumb. Primitive bipedalism is noted but the occipital foraman position in the skull is not.

The brain is a third the size of ours but they are ratioed about the same as us as to body/brain size so intelligence here is not a predictable thing to quantify here i feel.

She does look indonesion to me. Such a fascination being so different from all else that has been found (so far).

Beautiful reconstruction! [In reply to] Can't Post

The face actually looks surprisingly 'Hobbity' to me. A very warm and homely looking face, and I agree, I think she is pretty. It's very difficult to judge if that would be an accurate reconstruction but it looks a good attempt nevertheless considering all they have to go from is the skull.

"Earth shakes
Stone breaks
The forest is at your door
The dark sleep is broken
The woods have awoken
The trees have gone to war
Roots rend, wood bends
The Ents have answered the call
Through branches now the wind sings
Fell the power of living things
The trees have gone to war"
From 'The Ents'
