My Second Son Graduated from Primary School Today! :)

I'm one very proud Mum today, my second son has graduated from Primary School and he won an award for Most Improved! Couldn't believe it when his name was called out As many of you know, all three of my boys are autistic, so this achievement is a very big deal for us, when we think what all the "experts" told us to expect when they were diagnosed. Can't keep the smile off my face
My gorgeous boy with his Graduation Certificate
With his equally proud Dad!
With Me
The Four Amigos! My Evan with his three best mates
With his graduation present from Mr Kel and I and his Gold Award Medal
Close up of his Graduation present and his Most Improved Award Congratulations Sweetheart, we're so very proud of you! *hugs, love & blessings all* Kel x

I am delighted with such happy events kel. We are sorely in need of them at this moment. He is a good looking and happy youngster indeed!. All 3 of you keep up the great work! And i really like smiling, actually- beaming parents too. Now that is a good way to end a day and to hit the hay. Good night to the Kelio Klan

Congrats to the whole family! Gosh, weren't you just posting about your oldest boy graduating? How time flies.

Graduating, with an award to go with it! What a great way to end his Primary "career"! Hugs to him! And what a present to get him. That looks like an amazing watch! If it's okay to ask, what kind is it, and what all does it do? (It resembles one my son has, with a bunch of functions on it!)

We're just so proud of him, and delighted that the school recognised all the hard work he's done this year. It's something all my boys have complained of over the years, that they put so much effort into their work, but it seldom gets acknowledged. He looked so stunned when his name was called out. So did his parents!

When we got home, I had a phone call from the Special Needs Co-ordinator, wanting to add her congratulations to Evan (and us, she missed us at the school). She was almost as excited about it as we were Well, I think he's handsome, but I could be a little biased

it had finally sunk in that he'd won the award by then. Before he just looked totally stunned His best mate also won a Literary Award (that's the boy holding a book in his arms). So he was really happy for him too. It feels like it, but it's been two years since he finished Primary School. He starts Year 10 next year, which is so hard for us to believe. Even harder is that he towers over us now, that *can't* be my baby! lol.

They had the medallions specially made at the Perth Mint, so they're real gold. One of his mates told him he should sell it and use the money to buy something else. Evan told his mate what he could do with that suggestion Told him it means more to him than money and he's keeping it! That's my boy!! It's a limited edition with his football teams logo on it (West Coast Eagles .) We also got his name and the date of his graduation engraved on the back. I think it has a stop watch function. But not too sure on everything else, haven't read the instructions that came with it, to be honest.

...and never mind what the 'experts' say. The real experts are his parents and it looks like you guys are doing everything right! I think I may have mentioned to you a while back that my sister's son is also autistic - she had 'experts' advice and expectations at the beginning too. Right now, he is in his third year at college and is doing very well! I just know I'll be reading similar news in the years to come from you!
Cheers! "I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo. "So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Well, if we'd listened to the "experts" our sons would never do anything. Shows how much they know My eldest son starts Year 10 next year, and has already told us (and his teachers) that he wants to study Environmental Science when he leaves school. So they've already put in place a learning guide to help him get there. The only thing holding back all our kids is negativity and nay-sayers, so, big high five to your nephew too *hugs*
